Don’t Hurt Your Chances Of Selling Your Oceanside Home

oceanside home for saleDuring 37 years,  I’ve represented  a lot of buyers and shown a lot of  Oceanside home for sale. What does that mean for you, selling a home in Oceanside, CA?

From my years of experience,  I’ve heard just about everything from a buyer. I know what a buyer is looking for when they tour your Oceanside, CA home for sale. So, what is a buyer looking for?

  • Can the buyer envision themselves living in your Oceanside home for sale?
  • Can the buyer envision their family living in your home?

Buyers want a home to come home to after a long day at work. They  want to feel comfortable, relaxed and safe in their home.

Recently I was out with a client looking at houses that fit their purchase criteria. We had quite a few houses to preview.

When interested in an Oceanside house for sale most buyers will spend up to 30 minutes looking at the home. They’ll look in every nook and cranny, every closet and cupboard. They will imagine where their furniture will go, their kids playing in the back yard and see themselves cooking in the kitchen. They imagine being at home in your home for sale in Oceanside, CA.

If the buyer isn’t interested in a home, they speed through it. They are in and out in a matter of minutes.

In a couple of the homes that I thought matched my buyers criteria, my buyers were in and out in less than 5 minutes. In one of the homes for sale in Oceanside, CA they spent close to a half an hour.

Now, was this house any better than the other houses for sale in Oceanside, CA? Nope. It was because the buyers were uncomfortable. The sellers stayed in the home while the buyers where looking. It didn’t matter that they were in the other end of the home or downstairs while we were upstairs. They were in the home and the buyers felt uncomfortable. They felt  they were invading the home sellers privacy, no matter how much I tried to make them comfortable. They weren’t in the home long enough to imagine themselves making a home there, even though the Oceanside home for sale met their criteria perfectly.

My advice to sellers … leave your Oceanside house for sale so the potential buyers can relax and envision themselves in their new home.
