San Diego Homes

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month

With all the San Diego foreclosures, dog owners are giving up their beloved pets. San Diego animal shelters are full of dogs and cats, who have lost their home due to foreclosure. The owners no longer have the room or a yard for their pets to play in and giving them to shelter is their only option. I encourage those who find it in their hearts to love an older dog to go to your nearest shelter and adopt a dog this month.

Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month

Here at the ASPCA, it’s all shelter dogs, all the time. But the month of October is extra special—it’s Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month! Read our site for dog care tips, this year’s video contest theme and some very special canine Happy Tails—then make your way to your local shelter and meet the dog of your dreams!
